Heroes of the Storm previews Xal’atath’s capabilities as a new ranged assassin

Look, it’s time to reveal the truth: Xal’atath joining Heroes of the Storm isn’t really about adding a new character to the game, it’s a test to see if people can act normal. This test, we should note, has already been failed by Blizzard themselves, as her new preview video notes that she has cold feet. The bar wasn’t high, but here we are anyway. Let’s all just sigh and move on with the preview, which at least does note that her other disadvantages (low survivability and vulnerability to highly mobile or stealth opponents) counterbalance her advantages (high damage, area control, and stacking damage in extended fights).

Her abilities include dropping a void explosion that marks enemies and deals damage, teleporting in a pattern around her target (which won’t help her escape but can help disorient targets or be canceled early), and summoning the Dark Heart to inflict damage over time and pursue marked targets.
